A Sustainable Shelter: mini unit plan
Background information for Teachers
This mini unit plan has been created for teachers in year 4 that are teaching students about Design and Technologies. The objective is that students will engage in a variety of activities that allow them to investigate and understand the properties of materials and how different environments need different shelters and materials.
The resource integrates aspects of the Critical and Creative Thinking general capability and implements the Cross-curriculum Priority sustainability. The teacher is the facilitator of learning as the students engage in their learning development through their hands-on experiences which caters for differentiation.
There is also an assessment task sheet and rubric attached but the assessment task is not completed during this mini unit.
